Remember to:
Let's break down what it takes to pass the CBSE Class 10 exams.
To pass the CBSE Class 10 exams, students must score at least 33% in each subject. This applies to both the theory exam and practical or internal assessments. If a subject includes both components, students need to score at least 33% in each to pass.
Each subject has a certain number of marks for theory and practical/internal assessments. Your passing grade is based on these totals.
Instead of just numbers, CBSE uses grades from A1 to E2. Below is a breakdown of the grading system.
Marks Range | Grade | Grade Point | Remarks |
91-100 | A1 | 10.0 | Outstanding |
81-90 | A2 | 9.0 | Excellent |
71-80 | B1 | 8.0 | Very Good |
61-70 | B2 | 7.0 | Good |
51-60 | C1 | 6.0 | Above Average |
41-50 | C2 | 5.0 | Average |
33-40 | D | 4.0 | Pass |
21-32 | E1 | Fail | Needs Improvement |
00-20 | E2 | Fail | Needs Improvement |
CBSE also uses something called a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). It's the average of your grades in your top five subjects. To get your percentage from your CGPA, just multiply it by 9.5. This system helps to focus less on marks and more on learning.
